GIRLS: Will losing my virginity hurt?

I'm a 17 year old female and I've never worn a tampon (due to severe cramps). my hymen looks like it has been ripped..either that or its really thin. I was a gymnast when I was younger so I'm thinking it might have broken then. anyways, how badly will my first time hurt? how bad did it hurt for you on a scale of 1-10? and also, compare the severity of pain to something else painful. my boyfriend and I want to have sex, but I'm just a little nervous. but who's not their first time right?? oh, I don't know if this makes much of a difference, but his things not that big. that means less pain right? all answers are greatly appreciated!!
