Why is their a falling support for an United Ireland?

Probably because people just aren't as bothered anymore. There's hardly no generations left directly linked to people who fought for a united Ireland. I'm from a Catholic family & I'm from the Republic. I would like Ireland to be united - I think it should be. However, I think it's just easier for now if it stays the way it is. If anything about it is changed, there will be too many unhappy people that it will destroy the peace that was finally acheived not so long ago. I think most people realise this, which is why it seems as if they don't care as much. They still have the same opinion but it's just not as strong.
