Ported and sealed sub boxes?

The sloppiness is due to the cone being less under control due to the port in the box . a sealed box has predictability due to it being sealed . when the sub moves out ... it creates a vacuum inside the box that helps keep the cone under control and helps it return to center faster bc of the vacuum . And the opposite is the same when it moves inward , just positive pressure trying to push the sub back out. this makes it sound better and crisper than a ported box . Maybe important if you listen to things with lots of kick drums like rock or jazz . The sound quality isn't terrible from a ported box that is done right ... just not as good as a sealed ... so if you want loud ... go ported . If the little details in the music is more important ... go small sealed .
